Battery Management Systems Lab

BMSLab develops advanced battery management technologies for safer, higher-performing, and more reliable battery systems. Our research spans battery diagnostics, modeling, estimation, control, charging, and cell balancing, with applications ranging from portable electronics to electric vehicles and large-scale energy storage.

We combine physics-informed and data-driven methods, advanced sensing, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and intelligent estimation and control to understand, diagnose, and manage batteries under real-world operating conditions.

We translate scientific insight into practical, field-deployable algorithms, diagnostic technologies, and experimental platforms that advance battery safety, performance, reliability, and longevity.

Our research spans battery systems across scales—from portable electronics to high-energy EV and stationary energy-storage systems.
